Dues Information
Once accepted for membership, a Member must pay dues on or before the 10th day of the month. Dues are 3.42% of the monthly base as established in O.C.G.A.§47-25-81(a). If you need assistance in calculating the dues, please contact the office.
The Fund sends correspondence to all active members should a dues change occur.
The Fund requires Annual Salary Affidavits for all Part Time Chief Magistrate -and- Chief Magistrate Judges who also serve as the Full Time Probate Judge for their county to determine their monthly dues amount.
These are various ways to pay your monthly dues:
- Check or Money Order - Please be sure to include your full name and member number.
- ACH Deduction - By completing the Automatic Withdrawal Authorization Form , the member authorized the Fund to deduct the monthly dues amount from their specified account on the 10th of each month.
- County Payment Option - Some counties allow payroll deduction - OR - offer payment of dues as a benefit. You will need to be in touch with your payroll department to determine if these options are available to you. You may utilize the Payroll Deduction Form for submission to your payroll department. Do not send this for to the Fund Office as we do not have access to make changes to your paycheck.
A Member who is in arrears for the dues payment required by Code Section 47-25-41 for a period of 90 days shall become a suspended member on the ninetieth day of such arrearage. A suspended member may apply for reinstatement as an active member only during the 30 day period beginning with their next full term of office. This member shall not receive service credit for the time during which they were suspended. (O.C.G.A. § 47-25-43)
Refund Request
At the request of the member, a member may withdraw from the Fund by submitting a Refund Request Form . Refunded members will a full refund of the dues paid into the Fund + 5% interest per complete year of paid membership. (O.C.G.A. § 47-25-83).
